Chapter 3: People Turn from God
Week of 9/26 - 9/29
- This week we are continuing our journey through chapter 3. This chapter includes the use of a symbols to help us understand the meaning and messages God is revealing to us about himself. It has been stressed to the students that the stories in Genesis first 11 chapters are NOT historical facts, but are theological truths. This is a very difficult concept for young people who are accustomed to hearing the stories of creation and Adam & Eve their whole lives. We are challenging these young students to seek the truth that God has revealed to us and to have faith in what it is God has revealed to us.
Students are taking notes, working on a symbols worksheet, reading and having regular discussions about the meaning and understanding of the truth that is being given to them. We are hoping to conclude chapter 3 on Thursday.
